Jersey Channel Island Atrocoties
I left my home, the island of Jersey, in the Channel Islands UK almost 6 years ago. I have never had any pride or patronage to my island, rather I pretend that I am French, not British. My island has this week been exposed for its shamefull atrocities against vulnerable young children. Claims of violence, rape, sodomy, and murder have been made for many years, going back to the 1940's. These went unheard by Government ears. Until, one bright and very popular Senator learnt of some atrocities, learnt that they had been covered up all those years, learnt that some of the perpertrators were high profile people working in the 'Establishment'. This brave young man, who had little concern for his own political future spoke out, he demanded these things be addressed, he demanded they be made public, and action taken. Alas, his calls too went unheard. Finally, in November 2007, Senator Stuart Syvret, the whistle blower was sacked. The island was outraged, but those in power had ears of cloth, and fat pockets of gold. Then on 24th February 2008, working on claims by some victims that had borne those atrocities in one particular childrens home, the police go digging at the home, which has since been changed into a youth hostel. They find the remains of a child. These victims that had been trying to be heard for so long, had told of horrendous crimes against them, and others, and of children who simply disappeared. As news got out of a body being found, a few more victims came forward, and gave more evidence, which prompted the police to dig deeper,into tunnels that had been concreted closed. Many deep and dark tunnels, for the name of the place is Haut de la Garenne - The rabbit warren. Now lets backtrack a little for you don't know Jersey Channel Islands, or if you do, you probably think its much the same as England, has the same laws? No. Jersey is an British island independant of the UK, with its own laws and government. If the government wants to coverup anything, they will do so. I have many happy memories of my family childhood in jersey, for I was one of the lucky ones, I had parents made of gold, they cared for us, they love us, they fought for us. We had everything we wanted, but others were nowhere near so lucky. Others were orphaned and had nobody to care for them, they were put into Haut de la Garenne. If parents had problems, the children were put at Haut de la Garenne. I am aware of many shocking stories of happenings at Haut de la Garenne, and other childrens homes, and I was happy to get away from that island. When the news broke on Sky news on Saturday night that a body had been found, I could take it no more. A senator sacked from government for trying to do something about it, an island media that report only what they are told to report and so many lives ruined, and how many children lost. In my heart I knew they would find more bodies there, god rest thier little souls. I emailed Sky News Editor, I pleaded with him, told him that they will get the biggest UK story if they go there and investigate, as they are very good at doing. Not to be intimidated, to report what they find to the world, for it finally needs to get out in the open, and no longer covered up. To my thankful surprise on Sunday morning, 24h February 2008, I received an email from Sky news saying that they were in the island, and would investigate. From that day to this, the whole island has changed. Media reports are coming out, and going round the world of the atrocities that have been covered up for so many years. Many more surviving victims are coming forward now, currently there are about 200. At last someone may listen to them, believe them. And now every media in the UK wants to speak to Stuart Syvret, the whistle blower, the good guy of Jersey who tried to do something, but was sacked. Every report that comes out of that island fills my eyes with tears, yet fills my heart with hope that now, thanks to Sky news, people will now be heard, the government will no longer be able to cover up these abhorrent crimes, even though they still claim there was no cover up. They claim they didn't know. We tried to tell you, the good people of Jersey over and over tried to tell you, but you wouldn't listen. Your good Senator tried to tell you, but you didn't want to hear. This evening the latest news is that the police have managed to break through one of the bricked up walls, and into a cellar (which has been commonly referred to by victims as the dungeon, where they were taken to be abused, or to be left to rot). The police say that they believe there is yet another tunnel that they need to break into, so this is going to take time. But we await to hear if they find more bodies of children there. It is expected they will find many, due to witness statments, and also a very clever and well trained dog, who is trained to smell out dead bodies. It was this wonderful little dog that has pinpointed 6 areas that may contain bodies, and today when they broke down the brick wall, the dog had an 'xtreme'eaction, so we expect many more will be found. I hope and pray that now the world knows of these horrors, the people who committed them will be quickly arrested and locked up for life, and it needs to be quick, before they pack up thier millions and head off to Turkish Occupied Northern Cyprus, where they have no extradition treaty with the UK, and where they can also buy cheap property that belongs to Greek Cypriots, and hey, thats another whole long terrible story, but thats for another day. So we wait, the truth will finally come out soon. I ask you please, if you have read this far, and I sincerely hope you have,please go and read Stuart Syvrets blog, and also sign the petition to have him re-instated, it doesn't matter where you live, we need your support, as do the future children of Jersey.
